What is the dosage for Clindamycin?
The dosage for Clindamycin depends on the infection being treated. For most infections, the recommended dosage is 150-300 mg every 6 hours. For more serious infections, the recommended dosage is 300-450 mg every 6 hours. For vaginal infections, the recommended dosage is 150 mg every 12 hours for 7-14 days.
What are the precautions for Clindamycin?

This medication may make you more sensitive to the sun. Limit your time in the sun. Avoid tanning booths and sunlamps. Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing when outdoors.
Diarrhea may occur as a side effect of this medication. To help prevent this, maintain a regular schedule of bowel movements, and try to have a bowel movement after each meal. If diarrhea occurs, increase your intake of fluids and fiber. Consult your doctor if the diarrhea does not improve.
Clindamycin may cause live bacterial vaccines (such as typhoid vaccine) to not work as well. Do not have any immunizations / vaccinations while using this medication unless your doctor tells you to.
Before having surgery, tell your doctor or dentist about all the products you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products).
Older adults may be more sensitive to the side effects of this drug, especially diarrhea and skin rash.
