Dosage and direction

Precautions

• Transient worsening of acne (a “purge”) may occur during the initial 2-4 weeks of use as microcomedones are expedited to the surface. This is not an indication to discontinue therapy.
• Significant skin irritation, including erythema, scaling, dryness, stinging, and burning, may occur. These effects usually decrease in frequency and severity after the first month.

Contraindications

• Use on individuals with a personal history of cutaneous epitheliomas is not recommended.

Possible side effect

The most common side effects are local skin reactions. Systemic absorption is minimal, making systemic side effects rare.

• Very Common (>10%): Dry skin, skin scaling, skin burning sensation, skin irritation (erythema).

Missed dose
