Minocin online
Minocin (minocycline) is a tetracycline antibiotic that fights bacteria in the body. Minocin is used to treat many different bacterial infections, such as urinary tract infections, acne, gonorrhea, and chlamydia, periodontitis (gum disease), and others. Minocin is also used to treat certain types of acne that cannot be treated with other antibiotics. Minocin may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
You should not take Minocin if you are allergic to minocycline or to other tetracycline antibiotics such as demeclocycline, doxycycline, tetracycline, or tigecycline.
To make sure Minocin is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have ever had:
liver disease;
kidney disease;
asthma or sulfite allergy;
eczema;
diabetes;
if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Minocin can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. You should not breastfeed while you are taking Minocin.
Minocin is not expected to be harmful to an unborn baby. If you use this medicine during pregnancy, your baby could develop a serious bacterial or fungal infection.
Take Minocin exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not take this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
Take Minocin with a full glass of water. You may take Minocin with or without food.
To treat acne: For best results, take Minocin regularly. It may take up to 8 weeks before your acne improves. Keep using the medication as directed and tell your doctor if your symptoms do not improve.
To treat infections: Minocin is usually taken two or four times daily. Follow your doctor's instructions.
Do not take this medicine for more than 4 months.
Take Minocin on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal.
Shake the oral suspension (liquid) before you measure a dose. To be sure you get the correct dose, measure the liquid with the medicine dropper provided. Add the required amount of water to the provided container, and stir well. Empty the contents of the container into a measuring cup. The oral suspension is taken with or without food.
Do not take this medicine with milk or other dairy products, unless your doctor has told you to. Dairy products can make it harder for your body to absorb the medicine.
Use this medicine for the full prescribed length of time, even if your symptoms quickly improve. Skipping doses can increase your risk of infection that is resistant to medication. Minocin will not treat a viral infection such as the flu or a common cold.
Take this medicine at the same time each day.
Store at room temperature away from moisture, heat, and light. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
Throw away any unused oral suspension after 14 days.
Do not take Minocin within 2 hours before or after taking an antacid that contains aluminum or magnesium.
Seek medical attention right away if you have symptoms of a serious allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Call your doctor at once if you have:
severe stomach pain, diarrhea that is watery or bloody;
headache with chest pain and severe dizziness, fainting, fast or pounding heartbeats;
sudden numbness or weakness, especially on one side of the body;
sudden headache, confusion, problems with vision, speech, or balance;
jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes);
pale skin, easy bruising or bleeding;
increased thirst, loss of appetite, weakness, weight loss;
urinating less than usual or not at all;
swelling, rapid weight gain;
chest pain, shortness of breath (even with mild exertion);
little or no urinating;
nausea, upper stomach pain, itching, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes);
severe skin reaction--fever, sore throat, swelling in your face or tongue, burning in your eyes, skin pain, followed by a red or purple skin rash that spreads (especially in the face or upper body) and causes blistering and peeling.
Common Minocin side effects may include:
nausea, vomiting;
mild diarrhea;
