Common use

Alavert is commonly used for the relief of symptoms associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever), such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy or watery eyes, and itching of the nose or throat. It may also be used for the management of chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives of unknown cause), providing relief from itching and reducing the number and size of hives.

Dosage and direction

For adults and children 6 years of age and older: Take one 10 mg tablet or two teaspoonfuls (10 mg) of syrup once daily. Do not exceed the recommended dose. For orally disintegrating tablets: place on tongue; tablet disintegrates rapidly and can be swallowed with or without water. Take Alavert on an empty stomach for optimal absorption, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal.

Precautions

Do not use if you have ever had an allergic reaction to loratadine or any of the inactive ingredients. Consult a doctor before use if you have kidney or liver disease. Stop use and ask a doctor if an allergic reaction to this product occurs. If symptoms do not improve within 3 days or are accompanied by fever, consult a healthcare provider.
